Bayer Leverkusen and Brentford Strike Deal for Flekken’s Contract

Reports indicate that Bayer Leverkusen has come to an agreement with Brentford for the transfer of Mark Flekken. The Bundesliga club is set to pay 10 million euros for the 32-year-old goalkeeper’s services later this month.

Flekken made the move to Brentford from SC Freiburg in 2023, where he has made 77 appearances and achieved 15 clean sheets. He has also earned eight caps for the Dutch national team, typically serving as a backup to Brighton and Hove Albion’s Bart Verbruggen.

With only one year remaining on his contract, Leverkusen’s captain Lukas Hradecky, who is 35, may not extend his stay at Bayarena past the summer of 2026. The club was in search of a new goalkeeper, and this acquisition fits that need.

Reports suggest that Elemy Fripon has been sold to Liverpool, while Florian Wiltz is heading to Anfield, which has heightened the urgency for a replacement at Brentford.

Bayer Leverkusen is set to sign Mark Flekken as their new goalkeeper, finalizing details with Brentford.

This move is part of a strategy to regularly update their goalkeeping roster, confirmed with a transfer fee of 10 million euros.
