Brentford is locked up in Caoimhin Kelleher’s signature, and Liverpool’s goalkeeper completed medical care ahead of a £18 million move to Gtech Community Stadium.

The Bees and Reds have reached an entire agreement on this deal. This ensures the Republic of Ireland has finally secured a much-anticipated move in search of regular first-team football.

Kelleher has long been considered one of the most talented backup goalkeepers in the Premier League.

He worked as a researcher for Allison Becker for several seasons at Liverpool, and was particularly impressed by his limited appearances at domestic cup competitions.

His impressive performance in the EFL Cup included a display that won the match against Chelsea in the final shootout in 2022, solidifying his reputation as a reliable, constructed shot stopper.

Despite his obvious quality, there were few opportunities at Anfield. Kelher, who has been firmly established as the club’s No. 1 debut in 2019, has been limited to just 47 senior appearances in all competitions.

Romano has confirmed an update regarding his X account transfer.

“Caoimhin Kelleher completed medical tests at Brentford today after an agreement with Liverpool on a £18 million package deal.”

Following ongoing uncertainty about Mark Frecken’s future, Brentford, who was in the market for new goalkeepers, identified Kelleher as the ideal solution.

The deal is considered to be worth around £18 million, including add-ons, making Keleher one of the most expensive goalkeeper signatures in Brentford history.

Brentford sees Kelleher as a long-term investment and is looking at a player who can become the first choice keeper for years to come.

The move also offers an opportunity for Irish International to establish themselves at the Premier League level and strengthen the Republic of Ireland’s first jersey litigation.

The official announcement is expected within the next 24-48 hours, with Kelleher set to join Thomas Frank’s team for pre-season preparations.

Federico Chiesa, along with Kelleher, was able to leave the club this summer as Naples and Atletico Madrid show interest in signing him.
