New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson said Friday that he spent several days hospitalized while doctors ran tests to investigate unexplained neurological symptoms that have impaired his strength and coordination. In a lengthy Instagram post, he said some test results were “reassuring,” but doctors have not yet identified the cause of the condition.
Henderson wrote that he will keep working closely with specialists and physical therapists to recover, noting the symptoms have affected his strength, coordination and certain physical abilities. He emphasized that his health and long-term well-being are his top priorities and that he’s committed to doing whatever is necessary to get back to full health.
The 24-year-old has not practiced since Oct. 29, when he was listed with an illness, and was ruled out of the Patriots’ 24-19 win over Miami on Sunday. This season he’s appeared in six games and has been limited to 203 rushing yards and one touchdown, plus 45 receiving yards.
That output is a significant drop from his rookie year, when he totaled 1,131 yards from scrimmage (911 rushing) and 10 touchdowns. New England (5-3) will host Green Bay (5-3) on Sunday.
Henderson thanked his wife, the medical staff and the Patriots organization for their support, and closed by asking for prayers and privacy as he focuses on recovery, signing the message “Love Trey.”

Fan Take: This matters because Henderson was a breakout rookie whose absence or limited play could seriously affect the Patriots’ running game and offensive balance. If the issue is prolonged or recurring, it could prompt teams and the league to pay closer attention to neurological symptom monitoring and player health protocols.
