14 players selected on top of the NBA Draft’s Giannis Anteto Compo, they’re all now

It’s been 12 years since Giannis Antetokounmpo was drafted by the NBA.

The 2013 class did not feature many celebrities’ outlook ahead of the NBA Draft. In fact, only three players in that class were able to earn NBA All-Star honors in their careers.

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Anteto Compo is one of the players selected using the organization’s 15th overall pick.

Today, the Greek freak is undoubtedly considered the best player in the NBA. That being said, let’s go down the memory lane.

The first 14 picks of the NBA Draft were considered lottery picks, and Antetokounmpo fell shortly outside.

Clearly, expectations were not so high from Greece’s unprecedented outlook, which was chosen as 15th.

Fast forward to 2025, Giannis is 2x NBA MVP, 1x NBA DPOY, 1x NBA Finals MVP, 1x NBA Champion and more. But which player was chosen before him? Well, here’s the complete breakdown:

  • Anthony Bennett – Cleveland Cavaliers (1)
  • Victor Oladipo – Orlando Magic (2)
  • Otto Porter Jr. – Washington Wizard (3)
  • Cody Zeller – Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets (4)
  • Alex Len – Phoenix Sands (5)
  • Nerlens Noel – New Orleans Hornets/Pelican (6)
  • Ben McLemore – Sacramento Kings (7)
  • Kentavius Caldwell Pope – Detroit Pistons (8)
  • Trey Burke – Minnesota Timberwolves (9)
  • CJ McCollum – Portland Trail Blazers (10)
  • Michael Carter Williams – Philadelphia 76ers (11)
  • Stephen Adams – Oklahoma City Thunder (12)
  • Kelly Oric – Dallas Mavericks (13)
  • Shabazmuhammad – Utah Jazz (14)

If the 2013 class is reorganized, there is no doubt that Antetokounmpo will be selected as the No. 1 overall pick. It should speak volumes about the achievements of Greek freaks.

As mentioned earlier, Giannis enjoys a great spell in the league despite facing an intersection ahead of the offseason.

But what about other players? Well, here’s a quick breakdown of the same thing:
