The Ravens’ Zyflowers Celebrate Incredible Knee Recovery After Playoff Rest

Pro Bowl wide receiver Zay Flowers announced on Tuesday that he has fully recovered from the right knee injury that kept him out of both Baltimore Ravens playoff games last season. Speaking at the start of the Ravens’ second week of organized team activities, Flowers confidently stated, “My knees are amazing. I feel 100%. I feel ready for the season. There are no restrictions.”

Last year, Flowers made history as the first Ravens wide receiver to be named to the Pro Bowl. Serving as quarterback Lamar Jackson’s primary target, he led the team with 74 receptions and 1,059 receiving yards. Unfortunately, Flowers missed the postseason after injuring his right knee in the regular-season finale against the Cleveland Browns on January 4th—his first time missing consecutive games. Reflecting on the playoff absence, Flowers said it was especially tough to sit out after playing 17 regular-season games, noting, “You can at least play the first game of the year.”

Fortunately, Flowers avoided surgery and recovered through rehab. The 2023 first-round pick aims to become the first Ravens player since Derrick Mason, who posted three straight 1,000-yard seasons from 2007 to 2009, to reach that milestone again. Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken praised Flowers’ talent, saying, “He’s an incredible football player. He’s not just an outside receiver with elite route-running skills, but he’s dangerous once he has the ball in his hands.”

In addition to offseason team practices in Baltimore, Flowers has been training privately with Jackson in Florida. He described how Jackson offers detailed feedback during routes, helping them fine-tune their timing and connection. Despite the NFL approving player participation in flag football at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, Flowers expressed no interest in joining. “I play real football,” he said. “I’m not really worried about the Olympics. I’m trying to win the Super Bowl.”

Fan Take: This update on Zay Flowers is huge news for Ravens fans and NFL enthusiasts alike because having him fully healthy means Baltimore’s offense will be more dynamic and competitive in the upcoming season. Flowers’ drive to hit 1,000 yards again and his chemistry with Lamar Jackson could elevate the Ravens into serious Super Bowl contenders, underscoring the growing talent and excitement in the AFC North.
