Tyler Glasnow is hopeful about his recovery from a shoulder injury that sidelined him since late April. He is among five starting pitchers for the Los Angeles currently on the injured list. While there is no set timeline for his return, the 31-year-old right-hander, injured during a game against Pittsburgh on April 27, was recently placed on the 60-day injured list. Glasnow expressed confidence in his shoulder’s condition, stating on Tuesday, “My shoulders are absolutely fine.”

He minimized concerns about pain mentioned by manager Dave Roberts, explaining that any tightness was addressed after a bullpen session, which led to a precautionary rest period. “We’re both on the same wavelength,” Glasnow said regarding his communication with the team. He is scheduled for a bullpen session later this week and even caught a ball in the outfield on Tuesday, signaling positive progress. “I’ll be back as quickly as possible in a healthy way to help the team be my goal in the playoffs,” he added.

Glasnow missed last postseason due to right elbow tendonitis and signed a five-year, $135.5 million contract for the 2024 season. On the same day, the signed right-handed pitcher Jose Urena, recently designated for assignment by Toronto. Urena posted a 3.65 ERA in six appearances for the Blue Jays this year and began the season with the Mets, where he struggled in his sole outing. At 33, Urena has 11 years of Major League experience across multiple teams, holding a 44-77 record and a 4.78 ERA in 239 games.

Additionally, the assigned right-handed pitcher Will Klein to Triple-A Oklahoma City and catcher Chucky Robinson.

The addition of veteran Jose Urena also bolsters the ‘ pitching depth, offering more options and experience for the team throughout the season.
