Arsenal has been warned against paying “crazy” money for the relocation of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesco.

Former Chelsea and French defender Frank Lebouf seemingly unconvinced by Sesco, and is apparently warning the gunners that he will not give any guarantees if he joins.

The talented Youngslovenia International is impressed by Leipzig and has been highly praised throughout the game, but Lebov can’t see him step up to chase the Premier League team title.

Speaking about ESPN in the video clip below, Lebouf suggested that by paying Sesco around 800,000 euros, Arsenal could risk signing another Darwinnes or Jadon Sancho…

“It’s crazy (Leipzig’s Cesco rating). There are a lot of examples of clubs that have spent a lot of money on players from small clubs,” Lebov said.

“Sesco will play for Leipzig. They are family clubs and will Arsenal launch him in the Premier League?

“What is the guarantee that Sesco is trying to produce? And are you going to spend 80 million euros on him? Look at Jadon Sancho, Darwin Nunez and many others.”

Should Arsenal choose a more proven striker than Sesco?

There will be a few Arsenal fans who agree that Sesko doesn’t look good enough to start ahead for a club with such a big ambition.

The 22-year-old has 39 goals in 87 matches in all competitions in Leipzig and has 16 goals for 41 caps for the Slovenian national team.

Even if he’s still young, they’re not particularly surprising numbers and Arsenal will have to sign up for the front where they can ultimately deliver the main trophies to them.

Arsenal under pressure to spend a strong summer

Liverpool and Manchester City have shown they haven’t ruined this summer, and are also seeing signs of ambitious business from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Arsenal issued a real statement in the summer of 2023 when it responded to a narrowly overlooking the title by signing Declan Rice, Kai Herberts, Julien Timber and David Raya for big money.

Since then, they haven’t done enough and if they can’t get it right in the transfer market this summer, there’s certainly a risk they’ll get out of the top four next season and don’t mind missing another title.
