Ai Ogura Out of Action for Aragon MotoGP Race

Motogp newcomer Ai Ogura, who suffered a fractured right tibia during practice at Silverstone, will also miss the Aragon Grand Prix this weekend. A medical examination in Barcelona with Dr. Juan Monrau, who performed keyhole surgery to fix the fracture, revealed that Ogura’s foot has not healed sufficiently to race in the next eight rounds.

As a result, Raul Fernandez will be the only Trackhouse rider competing this weekend and participating in Monday’s post-race tests. Meanwhile, Ogura will focus on preparing for his comeback at the Italian Grand Prix in two weeks. Ogura is joining world champion Jorge Martin—who is currently sidelined due to injury—and test rider Lorenzo Sabadri, who has been filling in for Martin alongside Marco Bezzecchi at the factory team.

In the Rookie of the Year standings, Gresini’s Fermin Ardegare is currently leading Ogura by 13 points.

Fan Take: This setback for Ai Ogura is a tough break for both the rider and his fans, highlighting the physical risks inherent in MotoGP. His return will be eagerly anticipated, as young talents like him are crucial for the future excitement and competitiveness of the sport.
