Kelvin Joseph Confronts Multiple Charges Following Deadly Crash

Kelvin Joseph, a former NFL defensive back, is facing charges connected to a fatal motorcycle crash in the Dallas area, according to a report from the Dallas Morning News. Authorities in Richardson, a suburb of Dallas, stated on social media that Joseph, who is currently playing in the United Football League this spring, has been asked to report to police in another Dallas suburb, Plano, regarding his involvement in the incident on Saturday.

Joseph, 25, was driving a BMW when the crash occurred. He has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses related to driving under the influence, personal injury, and death. The victim, 27-year-old Cody Morris from Plano, died in the accident.

Joseph plays for the DC Defenders, who are set to compete in the upcoming UFL Conference Championship. The UFL acknowledged Joseph’s arrest in a statement to Dallas’s WFAA but did not provide further details.

In a separate 2022 incident during his time with the Dallas Cowboys, Joseph was a passenger in an SUV from which two shots were fired, resulting in one man’s death. Police determined Joseph was not the shooter, and the NFL did not take action against him for that event.

The lawyer who previously represented Joseph did not respond to inquiries from the Dallas Morning News, and it is unclear if Joseph currently has legal representation after his recent arrest.

Joseph was drafted by the Cowboys in 2021, played two seasons there, and was later traded to the Miami Dolphins. He has also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts.
