Leeds United were urged to sign Jafet Tanganga during the summer transfer period.

Players could potentially be available for a fee of just £1.2 million during the summer transfer period due to contract terms. Premier League clubs were able to trigger release clauses this summer, with Lehendry urging players to sign all three promoted clubs.

He said in FLW:

“To be fair, he clearly supports himself to take that step, but yes, I would be very surprised if one of the newly declared clubs didn’t take a punt on him.

“I think it’s crazy if they don’t go and activate that release clause, he can definitely do the job.

The 26-year-old was at Millwall last season and he was very impressive to them. He definitely has the quality to do well in the Premier League. He has played on top flights with Tottenham in the past.

Tanganga has been linked to wolves over the past few months.

The opportunity to participate in the Premier League club is also extremely exciting for players. It remains to be seen whether clubs like Leeds United are ready to trigger the exit clause. They have the resources to get the deal done, and Tanganga could prove to be a big bargain at that price.

He was entering the peak period of his career and was able to help Leeds improve defensively. If you want to survive in the Premier League next season, you will need to improve your team. They wouldn’t want to descend to the championship at the end of next season. It remains to be seen whether they can establish themselves as a patron of the top flight.

Tanganga will try to prove his worth in the top flight next season if the transfer is made. It would be interesting to see where he ends. Three clubs have the resources to pay him the asking price.
