Andy Murray opens the door to coaching returns after Novak Djokovic’s split

Andy Murray has not ruled out his return to coaching after his partnership with Novak Djokovic ended just six months later.

Murray, who retired last summer after the 2024 Parisiolmín, was working with Djokovic at the Australian Open among other tournaments.

“We’ll do it again at one stage. I don’t think it’ll happen anytime soon,” Murray told the BBC at the Queen’s Club on Monday.

“I wasn’t going to coach as soon as I finished playing, but it was a pretty unique opportunity, and it was a chance to learn from one of the greatest athletes of all time.

“It was a great opportunity for me. We had a really great moment off the court. We didn’t want the outcome, but we tried it.”

Since retiring, Murray has spent more time on golf courses than on tennis courts. He said he showed it when he teamed up with 10-year-old doubles partner Gloria as part of a ritual two-round rally against Laura Robson and 7-year-old Jay.

“My tennis is devilish and I’m ignoring what you’re trying to witness,” he said.

“I obviously missed being here,” he added. “It’s obviously my first time not being involved in the grass court season for a while, but I’m now living a new life and enjoying myself a little bit away from the sport.”
