Jim Ilsai’s Three Daughters to Take the Helm of the Colts Legacy

The Indianapolis Colts are proceeding with plans to transfer ownership following the passing of Jim Irsay. The team announced on Monday that Carly Irsay Gordon, Casey Voyt, and Karen Jackson will maintain their ownership roles. Irsay-Gordon serves as CEO, Voyt is the executive vice president, and Jackson will take on the role of Chief Brand Officer.

Jim Irsay, who passed away last month at age 65, had long battled health and addiction challenges and had been less active publicly after a fall in December. After the death of their father Robert Irsay in 1997, all three sisters grew up closely involved with the Colts, continuing the family legacy established by their grandfather.

Irsay-Gordon has represented the Colts at numerous NFL meetings since 2004, three years before Voyt joined the organization. Voyt has a background working with the NFL in London, while Jackson has spearheaded family programs focused on mental health awareness.

Report by Associated Press.

Fan Take: This significant ownership transition ensures the Colts remain under dedicated family leadership, which is crucial for the team’s stability and long-term vision. For NFL fans, this continuity could maintain the Colts’ competitive presence in the league while highlighting the importance of mental health initiatives in professional sports.
