With the first phase of the summer transfer window set to end tonight, Manchester United will certainly try to close the deal to improve the first team.

Reuben Amorim has already strengthened his rank, landing star star Matthews Cunya with a fee of £62.5 million, but has yet to be added to such a business during the offseason.

Such a deal will undoubtedly mark the beginning of the first team overhaul, with Johnny Evans, Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof among others being released at the end of the deal.

All areas of the pitch have been improved from the hierarchy to boost managers and turn around form, registering a 15th place Premier League finish.

Many names have been thrown into the mix over the past few weeks, with one name popping up again, approaching completion of the switch to Old Trafford.

The latest on United’s new addition hunting

Recently, striker Victor Guilyoker has been promoted again in a move to join United after playing for Portugal’s Sports CP previously under Amorim.

The hierarchy has been in touch with Swedish representatives about their move to Old Trafford this summer, as seen in the 54 goal tally for 2024/25.

However, he was able to join Brentford’s Brian Mbeumo in the final third, and SkySports’ latest update appears to bring the 25-year-old closer to moving to the Red Devils.

They claim that the Amorim side is set to return with a second offer from Cameroon International after the previous £45 million bids and the add-on £10 million bids were denied.

Personal terminology is not expected to be a problem with the £700 million honeybee attacker after stating his desire to move to United via the switch to Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Why United’s £70 million target is Amorim’s own Cherki

Rayan Cherki is in demand throughout the offseason and is no surprise given his form for Lyon across all competitions throughout 2024/25.

The 21-year-old registered with a combination of 32 goals and Ligue 1 outfits, helping the club claim the Europa League location under manager Paulo Fonseca.

He scored twice against the Red Devils in the quarterfinals of the Europa League in this campaign, but that wasn’t enough as Amorim’s side staged one of the best European comebacks of all time.

However, they are likely to face Cherki again next season after Manchester City agreed to a £34 million deal to bring the attackers to Etihad in 2025/26.

Despite the pending moves, Amorim may be trying to land a version of the Frenchman himself in a deal with Mbeumo. The Brentford star also features on the right side and can operate in the central region.

Labeled by one analyst as “extraordinary,” Winger surpasses Cherki in a variety of key areas, highlighting how impressive he has made this summer.

He quickly registered more targets than city attackers, posted higher target-on-target rates, and then posed a major threat in front of United’s goals.

Mbeumo has completed more take-ons this season, but further highlights his desire to put the ball in a dangerous area by registering more carrys into the ball and opposition penalty area.

£700 million may seem like a hefty fee for the forward, but the prospect of him joining Cunya within the final third at Old Trafford is certainly exciting, making the club a force to consider.

If he replicates the levels produced in the capital this season, he will be a great addition, and his talent will definitely improve the options at his manager’s disposal.
