According to the report, West Bromwich Albion is currently extremely keen to sign “incredible” defenders who have experience at the highest level.

Mason’s arrival mark begins a new era in Hawthorne

West Brom’s 2024-25 campaign eventually became Peter, and Tony Maubray was fired just three months after his arrival, failing to build on the foundations built by Carlos Colberan.

However, the appointment of former Tottenham Hotspur coach Ryan Mason marks the beginning of a new era for buggy, with reporter Steve Harmon claiming the board made the “brave” decision by replacing it with a manager with no championship experience.

At just 33 years old, Mason is certainly young for his manager, but people like Brighton & Hove Albion manager Fabian Hazeller and German boss Julian Nagrelsmann have proven that when it comes to success, it’s not an experience.

Ryan Mason has not wasted any time trying to strengthen his new West Brom team.

Despite the bad ending of the 2024-25 campaign, Albion only drifted four points in the Championship playoff place.

West Brom is currently showing strong interest in signing Liverpool defender Nat Phillips, according to an Athletic report.

Derby boss John Eustace confirmed he wants to sign Phillips permanently with the defender time at Anfield, who hasn’t been featured in the Premier League since the 2022-23 campaign.

“Incredible” Phillips impressed Klopp during the Liverpool spell

Perhaps most memorable is the Bolton-born defender who was regularly featured for Liverpool during the 2020-21 season, at which point Jurgen Klopp had to deal with the injury crisis.

Ultimately, the Reds were able to seal their Champions League qualification despite injuries issues, and Klopp was impressed by some of the 45,000-pound centre-back performances, particularly captivating their eyes with a 2-1 victory over West Ham United.

After the match, Klopp said: “He’s a great guy, a smart guy, a smart guy, everything. He’s not easy to see, not Messi, who cares? In the air, he’s a monster!

Since then, the 28-year-old has undoubtedly been able to find his level in the championship, but he continues to be impressed in the air, becoming the top 1% in the air, winning per 90 people in the past year when compared to other defenders in a similar league.

Phillips, who has appeared in seven Champions Leagues in his name, could become a great West Brom signature this summer and hopes he will be available permanently for him, who was not part of Liverpool’s plans.
