Arsenal is looking to strengthen their teams in almost every area ahead of another Premier League title challenge next season, but to date we have heard little valuable things about the new radar defender.

Arsenal missed Dean Huysen to Real Madrid

The new addition to the backline has not been accurately reported as a key item on Andrea Berta’s agenda, but Gunner attempted to sign Dean Huysen from Bournemouth before his prominent move to Real Madrid.

According to Fabrizio Romano, all three aspects are ready to trigger his previous £50 million release clause at one stage, with Arsenal also offering a formal contract offer to Huijsen’s representative (Cadena Ser).

After missing Huijsen, Arsenal’s centre-back pursuit appears to have been reduced to Berta’s back burner. Mikel Arteta already boasts Jakub Kiwior, William Saliba, Ricardo Carafioli and Gabriel.

The latter’s recent new deal also reduces the immediate need for another centre-back, and even if AC Milan officially formalizes his interest in Kiwior and signs Polish International, the new defender may need to accept his role as a backup option behind Gabriel and Saliba.

There have been reports that Arsenal, who surpasses 19-year-old Ajax Sensation Jorrel Hato, is in discussion, and can play both left-back and centre-back.

The center half is not completely off the table. Reel defender Alexandro is also attracting interest from Berta.

Arsenal will hold first consultations on signing Alexandro of Reel

The 25-year-old recently made his first senior appearance for Brazil after a great season in League 1, which began both the World Cup qualifiers with Ecuador and Paraguay. Arsenal focused on his exploitation in 2025.

According to UOL, Arsenal’s scouts will be present to see him act against Paraguay and Alexandro is considering an exit from the reel this summer, so he could be made available to Berta.

Additionally, Arsenal was the first to come into contact with Alexandro by signing him, and although he is said to be a defender fan, he faces competition with Serie A champion Napoli.

He also has a market value of around £26 million, but after the excellent 2024/2025 on the reel, the French side could be asking for more after losing Angel Gomez and Jonathan David for free.
