Liverpool is reportedly worried about Ibrahima Konate’s future.
The French defender is about to enter the final year of his contract at Anfield, with no indication of a defender currently trying to sign a new deal.
There is optimism around the club due to the new signatures of Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez, but there are also concerns about Konate’s future, which helped him make his success last season.
Konate’s current contract is understood to be in the final stages, and Liverpool has not yet reached an agreement on an extension.

The Premier League champions hope to avoid another similar situation as they lost Trent Alexander Arnold to Real Madrid in a similar way.
Journalist Graeme Bailey has provided the latest updates on the future of the 26-year-old centre-back.
“Liverpool has always been working on a new defender, even before Quansah’s decision to leave, but Konate’s situation remains one of the black clouds in its summer recruitment plans at Anfield.” Bailey tells RTK.
“Liverpool is eager to agree with him to new terms. They love the players and the way he made progress is everything they wanted.”
Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi Arabian side Al Giral are interested in signing the French international defender.
“With seeing Trent Alexander Arnold leave the club with little to nothing, they could again lose key players on a free transfer, and Real Madrid is one of the clubs that are conate worshippers.” Bailey confirmed.
“I have a big concern about Conate.” He added. “If a new deal is not agreed, I’m told that the club will consider selling.”
Red has identified a conate alternative
Connate Mount’s concern is that Liverpool has now emerged Mark Guech, who is at Crystal Palace, as a major replacement candidate.
England International is impressed by both the national and international stages, and with contracts underway until 2026, the palace may be open to negotiations for a transfer this summer.
Contract talks with Conate in the coming weeks will keep him at Anfield, but if an agreement arises, the club may turn full attention to Gehi.
