AKON, Ohio – Tim Petrovich shot a 4-under 66 on Friday in the second round lead share between Stephen Alker and Ricardo Gonzalez at the PGA Tour Champions’ third major.

Petrovich was closed on a birdie in the par 4 ninth, matching Alca and Gonzalez at a 5-under 135 in Firestone South. New Zealand native Alker is an Argentine player who shared his first round lead with Soren Kierdsen. Gonzalez has been won.

Miguel Angel Zimenez suffered a stroke after 66-year-old Freddie Jacobson became under 67.

Angel Cabrera, who won two majors in regional traditions this year and a senior PGA championship in Congress, was one year old under 68.

The tournament winner will win a spot at the athletes’ championships at TPC Sawgrass next year.

Firestone South previously hosted the World Series golf and the World Golf Championship. It’s a strong test for players who will be going to the US Senior Open in Colorado next.
