Nottingham Forest has been preparing its first campaign in a European contest since 1996, with Nuno Espirito Santo side marking itself as the surprise Premier League package last season.

He is a wanted…

Forest was a serious contender to qualify for the Champions League for most of 2024/2025, but they weren’t enough on the dramatic final day when they finally saw Newcastle United and Chelsea pipe into the top five locations.

Aston Villa finished sixth and won the final Europa League spot. That means Forest had to ultimately settle in a conference league location, and needed a less-than-money prize pool.

In any case, we can safely call the last term Nuno’s doubtful success, as the Forest was certainly not initially tilted to qualify for Europe, so that it ends the competition outside the long British coast of nearly two years.

Now, Evangelos Marinakis and the Forestry Commission build on a great campaign in the transfer market, they are under less PSR pressure than last year, following their addition to £32.4 million in Premier League prizes.

The seventh place finish and location in Europe means that the forest can “fall on a decent road” of £85 million, which is permitted to lose this accounting year without violating the PSR.

Forest could be forced to sell star midfielder Morgan Gibbs White, given that England International has only two years left on the contract, indicating he is willing to write an extension on the city ground (email).

The potential sales of Gibbs-White are combined with both league and European revenue, and are likely to fund the Forest Summer Transfer Windows for a key campaign in 2025/2026.

“Nottingham Forest is about to be strengthened,” former Premier League chief Mick Brown told Soccer Insider this week.

“Their recruitment has been excellent lately and they can bring players into an environment where they work together for the club.”

Forest is targeting new forwards to complement Nuno’s teams and back the Portuguese with more firepower. They are trying to compete on multiple fronts.

Serbia International will close its contract next summer. If the old lady doesn’t agree to extend the Talisman deal, she could be allowed to leave just £26 million.

That said, journalist Rudy Garretti, this week, he contacted Forest that he was working with Vlahovic representatives to seduce the center in the Premier League switch.

The tricky tree is described as a favorite to sign Vlahovic, who is very keen on moving to the UK. Despite interest from Serie A heavyweight AC Milan, Forest stands out as the most “specific” option for him.

Called the “superstar” striker by Italian media members, Vlahovic has been hitting double numbers in every season, surpassing both Juve and Fiorentina’s spells since 2020/2021.

The 25-year-old, who won the Serbian Football Player Award in 2024, will be a bold statement of intention from the forest, but his reported wage demand of £200,000 per week has proven a major obstacle.
