A prolonged knee injury causes Casperude to withdraw from Wimbledon

Norway’s Casperudo has withdrawn from Wimbledon as he is still struggling to recover from a knee injury, his management told local media on Saturday.

The World No. 16 and two French open finalists suffered a shocking two round exit in the Clay Court Major last month, losing to Portugal’s unseeded Nunovolge.

He then said he had struggled with knee injuries for a while and withdrew from a herbivorous event in Mallorca, having not acted on the men’s tour since.

“He’s back on the court and things are going well, but unfortunately it seems a little too early to play the top five sets. GSTAAD is now next to Casper.”

Roode’s best show at Wimbledon is his third second appearance.

Wimbledon will begin on June 30th, and GSTAAD’s Swiss opening will begin on July 14th.
