The French opening in 2025 is here. The annual event held in Roland Garos has begun. Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek are aiming to defend their title after winning the men’s and women’s singles event last year.

However, Alcaraz and Swiatek will not take part in the event as number one player. Alcaraz may not be the number one male player, but he is close. He sits at number two on the list, just behind Janik Thinner. Meanwhile, Swiatek fell to fifth place after rough stretches. Aryna Sabalenka will be taking part in the event as the number one female athlete with Americans Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula threatening their top spots.

2025 France Opening Date

2025 French Open Draw

On the men’s side, top-ranked Jannik Sinner will face Arthur Rinderknech in the first round. If the sinner had progressed, he would not face another highly ranked opponent until the third round, until the third round, which could face No. 26 Alejandro Davidevich Fokina.

That’s basically the case for the whole male side. There aren’t many big matchups before Round 3. Carlos Alcaraz was able to see Stefanos Titzpass as early as the fourth round, but at that point he was able to face American Ben Shelton.

Novak Djokovic will begin the 2025 French Open for McKenzie McDonald of America. If Djokovic, who took part in the sixth-ranked event, can advance to the third round, he can set up a match against No. 27 Dennis Shapovalov.

The female side could potentially provide more excitement in the previous round. Immediately, no. 10 Paula Badosa will face Naomi Osaka in her first round match. Elena Rybakina and Belinda Bencic also declined in round one.

Alina Sabalenka, number one in the women’s ranking, will face Kamila Rakimoba in Round 1. Coco Gouf (female number 2) will face Olivia Gadecki in the first round.

2025 French public court

The French Open will be held at Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France. So this event is sometimes called Roland Garros rather than the French Open. The stadium is named after French aviator Roland Garros.

Roland Garos features an outdoor clay court. Clay courts are considered slow, which could lead to longer meetings.
