Liverpool’s contract deadlock is unfortunately offered at 26 years old

Liverpool have already lost Trent Alexander Arnold to far less than planned, and the same could happen again in Conate’s Ibrahima. The French defender is also facing difficulties in his contract situation, with the loser predicted to become the Premier League champions.

Over the past few weeks, Liverpool has been discussing with Conate about a new deal. The 26-year-old believes his current deal will expire next summer, which has led to a lot of uncertainty about his future at Anfield – especially since Real Madrid wants to replicate their Alexander Arnold efforts by reaching another pre-contract agreement.

And at this stage, the likelihood of this event, or at least the forced sales will increase later this summer.

The Guardian reports that contract talks between Conate and Liverpool have been stagnating lately, and the defender remains disappointed with the initial offer placed on the table.

Liverpool has been keen to renew Conate for a while, but consultations have been delayed due to more uncertainty with Virgil van Dik and Mohamed Sarah. And now, it’s not starting well, as they’re progressing.

The report revealed that Liverpool’s opening offer to Conate is preferred with performance-based bonuses. He and his representatives are keen to ensure high basic wages.

Liverpool will be under severe pressure to agree with Conate by the end of summer. If they don’t, you can ask for sale on the last day of the transfer window to avoid losing him for free in 2026. He will be able to discuss with other clubs from January onwards.
