This was, so far, the first window as Andrea Berta’s Arsenal Sporting Director. Again, did that never become easy?

Gunners desperately need new strikers, and the world of soccer knows that. RB Leipzig and Sport are trying to milk weapons for all Benjamin Sesco and Victor’s Gyoker.

Londoners reportedly held consultations to sign both players, but at this time the deal is not too close.

Still, Arsenal is active and Berta is taking off his socks to ensure that Mikel Arteta’s side is ready for a weekend meetup with Manchester United.

The arrival of Martin Zubimendi certainly helps.

Arsenal’s new midfielder pursuit

The gunners will always confirm the arrival of Zubimendi from the real Sociedad.

The Spaniards were first linked to the club in January when it became clear that Arsenal was ready to trigger a midfielder release clause.

Fast forward a few months and now he is on the verge of completion as he reported that he was in London over the weekend to tie the switch process to Emirates Stadium.

Zubimendi is not the only midfielder that midfielder Arsenal is tracking.

Certainly, according to TBR Football, they are about to sign Warren Zaire Emmalie, a highly talented teenager at PSG.

They understand that gunners started talking to Champions League winners last week about the move.

However, League One has informed Arsenal that the 19-year-old is not on sale, and any deal is incredibly unlikely.

They note that if a switch occurs, Berta and Co will need to arm “important” offers.

Why does Zaire Emery have something special?

Arteta needs more midfielders as Jorginho leaves the Emirates on a free transfer and Thomas Partey’s Arsenal Adventure could reach a conclusion.

Zubimendi certainly checks one box. European football expert Sid Lowe says that the 26-year-old is “a deep midfielder in Europe, perhaps apart from Rodri.”

So if he worked with Zaire Emery, wouldn’t it be more special?

PSG may feel younger, but the fact in question is that he is quite special. Teenage agent Jorge Mendes has already described him as “one of the world’s greatest midfielders,” while data analyst Ben Matinson has described him as “a Monaco level talent Mbappe.”

Arsenal has enjoyed the talent of Europe’s best young players for many years, but today’s days are as many as Ethan Nuwaneri and Miles Lewis Skelly.

But Zaire Emery reminds me of a particular CESC Fabregas.

The Spaniard was younger than the French superstars. He turned 16 in London, but his influence in the Premier League quickly helped him showcase why he is one of the best young players in football around the world.

He eventually scored 57 and left Arsenal behind, supporting 95 on a 303 outing. He was named the club captain when he was only 21 years old, making him the youngest skipper in history. There have been few better midfielders to adore Highberry and Emirates over the past 20 years.

In short, he was someone who could ooze through generational talent, assist machines, classes and through very player-like lines on Earth.

Zaire-Emery, a player who produces the same level of hype, is cut from similar fabrics, just like teenagers. He made his Champions League debut, especially at just 17 years old. Since then, he has grown from strength to strength.

Data via the transfer market.

Compared to the European top five league midfielders, he ranks in the top 3% in passing success rate, top 9% in passing and the best 10% in Switch.

Those numbers rubber stamps are comparisons with Fabregas, one of the best passersby of the present day.

The PSG teenage superstar still doesn’t have the same assist percentage that produces just two of last season, but his ability as a deep playmaker certainly evokes Fabregas’ memories in the later stages of his career.

As for his development as a young man, it certainly has the characteristics of the way the Spaniards exploded into the scene many years ago.
