Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will compete against Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard this summer.
According to a report from Standard, both clubs are enthusiastic about the 31-year-old central midfielder, and it will be interesting to see where he ends.
Norgaard has been an outstanding figure for Brentford since joining the club, and Tottenham manager Thomas Frank appreciated him very much and “absolutely loves him.” The Danish manager knows everything about the player who worked with him at Brentford. It remains to be seen whether Frank’s arrival at Tottenham will have any advantages in the transfer race.
The 31-year-old midfielder could be drawn to the idea of joining a big club this summer, and it would be hard to refuse the opportunity to reunite with his former manager.
Arsenal Thomas Party alternative
Meanwhile, the report is considering potential alternatives as it claims Arsenal failed to agree to a new deal with Thomas Parti.
However, if they can convince Africans to sign a new dealer at the club, they are unlikely to pursue a Brentford star.
Tottenham needs Christian Norgaard
As far as Tottenham is concerned, they need more quality and depth in the middle of the park. Players like Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma are entering the final year of their contract and will need to start planning for the future.
Norgaard may not be a long-term acquisition, but he will be a quality addition. He knows how Thomas Frank likes to play, and can quickly settle down and make an impact. Aside from his quality as a player, his leadership skills and experience could prove equally essential.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will be able to win the race for his signature.
