  • Arsenal will bolster efforts to sign Norgaard
  • The gunner needs more depth in the middle

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal took a major step in the mid-summer revamps with the news that Christian Norgaard agreed to personal terms with the club.

The Brentford captain, who has become one of the most underrated performers in the Premier League in recent seasons, is currently sought to travel to Emirates Stadium.

Nørgaard is eager to move and has already communicated his intentions to leave Brentford this summer.

Arsenal is understood to have been in discussion with player representatives for several weeks, and with full agreement on current personal terms, the focus will fully shift to a club that will secure the price.

Brentford has been notified of the player’s decision and is still open to negotiating the deal, although he is still at a rate slightly above Arsenal’s opening offer.

The gunner is believed to have placed its first bid of nearly 10 million euros, which was not fully accepted, but both sides remain optimistic that they will soon reach a compromise.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta made this window the top priority, particularly following the news that Thomas Parte was out of the club.

Norgaard’s Premier League experience makes him a valuable short-term addition as Arsenal continues to build a team that can challenge the Premier League title.

The move appears to be increasingly likely as players are seeking moves and Brentford is already preparing for his potential departure.

If the two clubs finalize their terms in the coming days, Arsenal could sign a second major field after agreeing to a deal with Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.
