If you ask Arsenal fans that the team needs to improve this summer, I think the majority will say it’s an offense.

After all, Mikel Arteta’s team finished second on the best defense in the Premier League this season, but they’re 17 goals fewer than Champions Liverpool and three fewer than third-placed Manchester City.

However, while North Londoners seem to be making progress in their deals to sign things like Christian Norgaard and Christian Mosquera, they still don’t have much ground for new wingers or strikers.

Luckily, the club is now linked to another centre forward, a world-class archer who will now be better signing than Benjamin Sesco and Victor’s Gyoker.

Arsenal striker search

Arsenal tends to get caught up in some sort of transfer saga every summer, with Declan Rice being the subject two years ago and Mikel Merino being the subject last summer.

This year, Saga focused on more positions: Striker.

There have been a small number of centre forwards at the center linked to the club in recent weeks and months, but most importantly Sesco and Gyoker.

The former was a long-term goal for the gunner, but it appears that North London profits are being cooled for him, at around £68-£85m, along with reports suggesting that RB Leipzig wants him 80 million euros.

At the same time, the latter is currently in conflict with the Sports CP and the Open CP over a gentleman’s agreement that appears to have broken the club.

With these issues in place, it makes sense for the gunner to look at other targets.

At least, that revealed that, according to a recent report from BBC Sports’ Sami Mokbell, Arsenal is actually interested in Julian Alvarez.

Speaking about the Latte Firm Podcast, the respected journalist claimed he had “see” how North Londoners would make a deal with the Atlético Madrid superstar this summer.

Unfortunately, Mokbell doesn’t think that would be a club. That may be true since I only joined the Spanish giants last summer for £82 million.

That said, Alvarez will be a better signature than Sesco or Gyoker, which would be a complicated and expensive transfer, but it should fight for Arsenal, which should be fought.

How Alvarez compares to Sesko and Gyokeres

So, starting by looking at the comparison between Sesko and Alvarez, it’s very easy to understand why the latter makes Arsenal’s signature better than the former.

For example, it is undeniable that the Slovenians enjoyed a strong personal campaign with RB Leipzig this season. He scored 21 goals and provided six assists in a total of 3,258 minutes.

But even impressive numbers like those were less effective than Atletico’s star.

He scored 29 goals and provided eight assists in 57 appearances for the Spanish Giants, a total of 3,967 minutes dubbed by Argentine journalist Roy Nemar.

So why does the former Manchester City star have a better signature than Gyoker, who finished this season with 54 goals and 13 assists in 52 games?

Well, in this case, the argument comes down to two interlocking reasons: the opposite level and his experience.

Regarding that first reason, the Portuguese league is currently ranked as the 11th best in world football according to OPTA, and worse still, out of the 18 teams of it, 11 are thought to be around the league 1 level. In contrast, La Liga is the third best in the world.

Plus, the fact that Swedish International has never played in the top five leagues and the risk of signing him to someone with experience in the Premier League is clear.

Ultimately, Arsenal will need to make sure they sign the right striker this summer, and it looks like he’s checking out all the boxes, even if it’s difficult for him to kick him out of Madrid.
