Arsenal’s hopes to land one of the top striker’s targets this summer have been hit hard. BBC journalist Sami Mokbell said that during this transfer window the gunner has a “less than 2% chance.”
Mikel Arteta and sports director Andrea Berta are actively looking for new centre forwards to add a clinical edge to their team ahead of the new Premier League season.
However, the gunners still fail to win major trophies under Arteta, ready to move the proven strikers this summer, making them the offensive power they feared next season.
Arsenal is unlikely to sign Alexander Isaac
The North London Club has been linked for quite some time to the move of Newcastle United attacker Alexander Isaac.
However, the latest update from Mokbel gave little hope to the gunners to sign Swedish international attackers.
Speaking on the Latte Firm Show, Mokbel provided an update.
“I think the ideal scenario for Mikel Arteta is to get Alexander Isaac. I think the chances of that happening are probably less than 2%.
“If you go to ISAK, next season may be the season where you get your chance.
“But yesterday we saw reports in the Northeast that they were trying to lead him to a new contract, so we’ll see about it.”
The striker search became one of the club’s key priorities, with concerns that a consistent clinical number of nine could ultimately hamper Arsenal in the biggest game despite impressive offensive displays from last season.
Gunners have several names on the list of candidates
Arteta adds forwards that can complement things like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, providing a presence within the box that achieves reliable goals.
News from Mokbel will be a disappointment for many Arsenal supporters who have had hopes for the marquee striker signing this summer to complete the Arteta attack puzzle.
Isaac, who is also being chased by Liverpool this summer, is said to be “ruthless” by Magpie Manager Eddie Howe.
Gunner is still interested in RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesco and sports’ Victor Gyoker.
If either of them can join Gunner this summer, Arteta and Arsenal fans will be pleased with the addition.
