Corentin Moutet booked his place in the Mallorca Open Finals with a 6-4, 7-6 (3) victory over third seed Alex Michelsen on Friday, reaching his first ATP showpiece match in over five years.

The French will face Talong Leakspur in Saturday’s showdown after the Dutch garnered a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Canada’s second-seeded Felix Auger Ariasime.

The only appearance in the previous ATP Finals in the 2020 ATP Finals broke twice in the opening set and remained a solid serve to ingest 6-4.

Moute’s Courtcraft displaced the American enemies from balance throughout, with his left-handed angles and slices destroying Michelsen’s rhythm.

The second set was a more severe event, with both players trading early breaks. Michaelsen created five breakpoints 4-3, but the 26-year-old Moutet saved them all in a brave hold.

The Americans moved ahead 6-5, but Moutet responded with a composed service game to force a tiebreak.

Moute went 4-3 on the breaker, never looking back, sealed the match on his first opportunity and is now bidding to win his Maiden ATP title.

Fourth seed Griekspoor secured a break in each set and held the service firmly to reach the final.

Auger-Aliasime made some errors, but most struggled to try Greikspoor’s serve and were lacking in key moments.
