The Paulick Report highlighted Battendown in its July edition of notable stakes winner Red Route 1, Fasig Tipton. Fasig-Tipton has unveiled its initial catalogue for the July race-age sales set to take place in Lexington, Kentucky, on Tuesday, July 8th. Entries will continue to be accepted until the sale date.

Boyd Browning, president of Fasig-Tipton, stated that the horses featured in the July sale nicely complement the one-year-olds selected earlier in the month. He noted that this year’s catalogue offers quality horses across the board, ranging from seasoned stakes winners to impressive debut runners who remain eligible as maidens.

Key highlights include:

– Giant Prank (Hip 313): A Grade 1 competitor and Mischief’s son, who placed third in the Aristides Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs on May 31st.
– New King (Hip 324): A stakes-placed 4-year-old son of Mischief, who won impressively by three or more lengths on June 7th, represented by Elite agents.
– Red Route 1 (Hip 329): A multiple stakes winner sired by Gun Runner, victorious in the Essex Handicap (G3) at Oaklawn this year with earnings exceeding $2.1 million, represented by Taylor Made Sales Agency.
– Rosie Sieg (Hip 332): A 4-year-old Philly’s Philly filly who won both starts this year, including the Goldwood Stakes at Monmouth on June 21st.
– Star of Wonder (Hip 339): Uncle Mo’s 4-year-old son who placed third in the Pimlico Special Stakes (G3) on May 18th.
– Battendown (Hip 346): A 4-year-old son of Tapit and multiple stakes winner, including the Ohio Derby (G3), represented by Juddmonte’s agent, Taylor Made Sales Agency.

The July sale continues to showcase race-aged horses that have achieved success at the highest level. Since the sale’s inception in 2013, alumni have earned nearly $100 million collectively and amassed 86 stakes victories.

Noteworthy past alumni include Nakatomi, last year’s Vanderbilt Handicap (G1) winner; Fort Washington, victorious in three stakes, including recent wins in the Dinner Party Stakes (G3) and Canadian Turf Stakes (G3); and Banishing, this year’s Oaklawn Mile Stakes (G3) winner, who has earned over $1 million since being purchased at the sale last year.

The expanded online catalogue features detailed pedigrees, race replays, statistics, and “sheet” numbers from Lagodin, along with complete past performances from Daily Racing Form. Prospective buyers can also sign up for email alerts to receive updates on pedigrees, race records, and new entries.

The Racing Era catalogue for July is accessible through the Equineline Sales Catalog app, with printed catalogues available during the weekly sales leading up to the event.
