The Austrian Grand Prix secures the future with a new long-term contract

The Austrian Grand Prix has been the latest race to maintain the race until 2041 and sign a long-term contract with Formula 1.

Red Bull Ring has been home to the event since 2014 and intervened as hosting multiple races during the 2020 and 2021 Covid-Hit seasons. Formula 1 trends continue to agree to long-term deals with specific venues on schedule.

“Austria was a very special Formula 1 race, so it’s great to have secured a long-term future for the Grand Prix, which is deeply rooted in the history of the sport,” said Stefano Domenicali, CEO and President of F1. “Dietrich Mateschitz’s vision and passion gave the race the investment and attention that allowed them to return as an incredible event on the Formula 1 calendar.

“Every year, returning to the stunning Mount Stilian is a highlight, an experience that evokes incredible emotions among drivers, teams and fans, creating a different atmosphere.

“We are grateful for Mark Maites Schitz, Thomas Yu Bebert and his team for their outstanding dedication and their enthusiasm and loyalty continue to elevate this iconic race.”

Red Bull Ring has benefited from a massive investment from Dietrich Mattitz, the former Red Bull co-owner who passed away in 2022. His son Mark continues to support his commitment to the truck, saying the circuit can induce further investment in infrastructure.

“We are delighted that Formula 1 will remain in the Red Bull Ring for years to come,” Maysitz said. “We are proud to continue our father’s legacy and maintain the rich history of motor racing at the Styria and Red Bull Ring.

“Austria’s close relationship with Formula 1 is a great foundation for our long-term partnership. Working together, we intend to continue this success story in the future.”
