Liverpool has been very active in the transfer market in recent weeks, with three major deals confirmed during this period. Jeremy Fripon and Florian Wiltz signed from Bayer Lebakusen.

Wirtz’s contract was the most expensive, with over £100 million spent on bringing him to Anfield. And while the signature has brought a lot of joy to Liverpool supporters, some concerns have been raised about the pressure that could be the 22-year-old.

And the same concern that former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revered somewhat, spoke about Wirtz’s signature in an interview with Weltz.

“There’s no doubt about that. It’s an insane amount and that Liverpool players know if things go wrong in two or three games. We all agree that we’re talking about great players here.

“He’s an outstanding player who can give any club something great. We’re still not seeing if he’ll make Liverpool even better.”

Klopp has been working with the Red Bull Football Group since returning to the match in January, and although he has no connection to Liverpool any more, he will not take his keen eye on their progress. And his interest will be increased by the presence of Wirtz, his fellow German. For now, it is still unclear how the former Leverkusen man is riding in Merseyside. There, he becomes one of the references of Arne Slot’s team.
