On Wednesday, Groups E and F saw significant developments as Borussia Dortmund, Fluminense, Monterrey, and Inter Milan secured their spots in the knockout stage.

Dortmund achieved a slim victory over Ulsan in Group F, while Monterrey scored three first-half goals against Urawa. Inter Milan needed a strong second half and benefited from a red card against River Plate to advance. The only draw of the day came when Fluminense held Mamelodi Sundowns back, which was enough to see them join Dortmund in the next round.

Wednesday’s Club World Cup Results

Borussia Dortmund 1, Ulsan 0

Borussia Dortmund delivered a dominant performance to win 1-0 against Ulsan, securing the top position in Group F with 28 shots aimed at goal. This win allowed Nico Kovac’s squad to progress to the knockout stages, while the Korean team was already eliminated following previous losses to Mamelodi and Fluminense.

Mamelodi Sundowns 0, Fluminense 0

The match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Fluminense ended in a goalless draw, resulting in both teams sharing points in the middle of Group F. However, this draw enabled the Brazilian team to secure second place behind Dortmund with five points, despite Sundowns edging Fluminense with slightly more shots.
