Leeds has been busy in the transfer market this summer, with two deals already sewn in. And it could be that we’ll arrive more on Elland Road in the coming weeks and head there from Newcastle.

Lukas Nmencha and Jaka Bijol have already signed on the dotted line, and will soon be followed by defender Sebastiaan Bornauw, who is expected to arrive shortly after Leeds agrees to a fee with Wolfsburg on the Bundesliga side.

Bijol and Bornauw are solid defensive reinforcements for the Leeds, and are turning their eyes to adding a new starting goalkeeper to Daniel Farke’s team.

As reported by Simon Mallock of the Mirror (via Givemesport), Leeds is keen to sign Nick Pope this summer. The Newcastle man could end up losing his starting spot at St. James Park as James Trafford is due to arrive from Burnley.

Leeds is monitoring efforts to sign Trafford in Newcastle, and they plan to take an approach to signing the Pope if a deal is made.

Newcastle could accept the Pope’s sale, whose £10,000 contract expires next summer. He has been the top performer of the Carabao Cup champion since joining three years ago, but he wants to have a goalkeeper who is pleased with the ball at his feet.

Leeds has been keeping an eye on Pope for a while and they are prepared to make their move. It remains to be seen whether they will be able to make the deal, but if so, he will be a more reliable alternative to Iranian Meslier, a club starter in recent years.
