Recently, it has been revealed that clubs around Europe have already been unsure of their quick and aggressive approach, with reports that Arsenal is surprised by the transfer window under Andrea Berta.
For those who support the club, this should be music to the ears. The January window was a slow labor event, and it ended up without one call. Rewind last summer, faces like David Raya, Mikel Merino and Riccardo Calfioli all arrived, but the centre continued to escape.
So, what are you ready for this summer? Berta needs a striker. Mikel Arteta needs a striker. Arsenal needs a striker. It’s disastrous not to sign.
Arsenal’s list of striker candidates this summer
Choose one of the top European football strikers. The gunners may be linked to them.
The dream signature is clearly Alexander Isaac, but if Newcastle secures Champions League football, the Swedes feel he is already even more uncontrollable than before.
Therefore, alternatives will be needed and in the long-term target Benjamin Sesco, they may find a man. A report from David Ornstein last week shows that they “do a lot of work” on the possibility of signing the Slovenians.
However, Berta’s pick looks like another Swedes in the form of Victor Gyoker, who had owned before the goal for the past two seasons.
Transfer focus
Mega Money deals, controversial moves, famous flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinions across Football FanCust.
Reports from last week or so suggest that Arsenal is locked up in consultations to sign forwards from Portugal’s Sports CP, but Fresh News shows that the deal is now nearing completion.
A French reporter claims that “Gyoker and Arsenal have fully agreed on personal terms,” and that “sports strikers would like to join Arsenal this summer.”
Certainly exciting news. So, what can he offer other than his goals?
How Viktor Gyoker compares to Alexander Isak
In the words of data analyst Spencer Mossman, Gyoker is currently “the best finisher in the world.”
It is difficult to challenge that claim, especially considering the surprising form of the 26-year-old, since replacing England’s second tier in Coventry for a top flight in Portugal.
In his final campaign with Coventry, the consistent centre forward found the net 22 times, and once he left, he really exploded, scoring 43 goals on 50 outings last season and registering 53 goals on 51 outings throughout 2024/25.
It’s hardly surprising to see him leading the race of European golden boots. He is ahead of Isaac due to goal involvement, and that is rather saying it all.
Toon Forward was very impressive with his own rights, but boasts a mere 27 goals in all competitions compared. Of course, it’s impressive, but this is a man who could cost even in the £150 million area. At Gyokeres, Arsenal can get more money, so to speak.
However, there is a debate that suggests that Arsenal needs a scorer and that they can get a more complete package here.

One thing that needs to be said is that Isak is playing in a better league, but even so, some of the numbers Gyoker has registered in Iberia are simply off the charts.
While he scores multiple goals per game, he is proven to be more creative than Isaac – just – he carries the ball more regularly and he is more likely to win an air duel on you. That final statistic may be important considering what Arteta asked about things like Kai Herberts and Merino as his central striker.
That said, data analyst Ben Matinson shares what he calls some “red flags.”
Especially given Isaac’s explosiveness, the intense first touch and his inability to turn on the dime could be a turn-off, but first and foremost, Arsenal needs a goal.
Gyoker stipulates that in abundance over the last few years, and that if his fellow Swedes were found to be off the table, he could become Arsenal’s very own ISAK anyway. The proven goalscorer is about to take the Premier League by storm.
