Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz has linked his move to Barcelona in recent months, and the Reds could consider selling him if he doesn’t sign an extension.

According to football insider journalist Pete O’Rourke, there are rumours that Barcelona could put a £85 million offer to players ahead, and journalists believe Liverpool will be forced to consider whether a huge sum of money will be offered.

Plus, the 28-year-old enters the final two years of his contract in the summer, with Liverpool in discussions to extend Diaz’s deal. If two parties fail to reach a contract, they can make a conscious decision to win cash to the player. It is still unknown how the situation will develop.

Red considering selling?

“If the reported £85 million is true, we’ll leave Liverpool to make a decision,” he told Football Insider.

“They are in discussions over a new deal.

“He remains in the current one at Anfield for two years, but if there is no agreement on that new deal, the door will be opened for Barcelona to seduce him.

“He’s 28 this year and will be 29 in January next year, so I’m sure if Liverpool gets such a big offer from Barcelona, that’s something they have to consider.”

Diaz has been a key player for Liverpool since joining the club, and his departure will be a hit for the club. They are already deeply lacking in attacking units. Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez are extremely overwhelming and both players need to trade.

Selling Diaz this summer could prove to be a mistake for the club. It is still unknown how the situation will unfold. He could be very contradictory, but the Colombians were very effective across Liverpool. He has 17 goals for his name this season. He is the main source of creativity and goals for teams other than Mohamed Sarah.

There’s no doubt he’ll be a quality addition to Barcelona. They need more depth in the attacking units, and Diaz is at the peak of his power. He ran in La Liga and hit the ground and was able to change them with his attacks. The opportunity to participate in the Spanish champions is also very appealing to players.
