Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon has linked his move from the club, and Arsenal reportedly protecting him the tab.

According to soccer insider Pete O’Rourke, they won’t be able to sign Newcastle attackers this summer.

The report claims Newcastle will not sell key players, particularly after securing Champions League qualification, and Arsenal will have to move on to other targets.

“(Gordon) is clearly another player on Arsenal’s target list and will play as a broader advance. Bringing in a new wide man is a priority for Mikel Arteta,” he told the insider in football.

“Newcastle isn’t really making losing their best player right now.

“They want to build on what they’ve achieved this season. If they can qualify for the Champions League, that will go a long way in keeping their top players.”

Arsenal needed a quality wide player and Gordon would have been a great addition. He was a proven performer in the Premier League and a key player in Newcastle. He’s definitely going to be able to succeed at a higher level.

It’s unlikely that Newcastle will sell it

Gordon is looking to compete with Newcastle in the UEFA Champions League next season.

They have ambitious projects, and they consistently aim to fight for major trophies. We rarely sell key players in the summer. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can find quality alternatives.

Arsenal had no depth and quality of their offensive units this season. Ideally, you’ll sign a versatile attacker like Gordon. They are overly dependent on Bukayo Saka, and the 24-year-old England International needs more support for the attack.

The lack of quality in the attacking force has won the league title this season. It remains to be seen whether the team gap will be able to be inserted in the coming weeks.
