The WNBA has announced that Becky Hamon has been named Coach of the Year for the 2022 season.

Hamon led the ace to a 26-10 record and tied it with Chicago Sky to get the best record in the league. The ace won the 2022 Commissioner Cup after beating 93-83 in July. Las Vegas won the first species after winning a tiebreaker over the air. Hamon is the first former player to win an award during her debut season for her side job, and she is the third former player to win a Coty award overall.

The ACES coach became the best NBA coach of all time, when he served as the Spurs assistant coach for Greg Popovich’s coaching staff in 2014-2022. While on the Spurs coaching staff, she became the first female head coach of the Summer League team in 2015. The Spurs won the Las Vegas Summer League title that same season. She also became the first woman to work on the All-Star coaching staff.

After an offseason filled with high-profile NBA head coaches and GM Jobs interviews, Hamon decided to sign on as the ace head coach and first million-dollar coach. She received a previous offer and a call from the WNBA. This includes from freedom she almost signed.
