Lando Norris’ still has what I need to work on’ despite the F1 MonacoGP victory

Landorris vowed to continue improving after returning to the top step on the Formula 1 podium at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Norris claimed his first F1 victory since the Australian Grand Prix, which opened the season on Sunday.

The McLaren driver rounded out pole position before Charles Leclerc and held the lead on lap one despite heavy lockup.

Norris has managed the pace for a long time and resisted intense pressure from Leclerc to earn his first victory in the McLaren Principality since 2008.

This means Norris is just three points behind McLaren’s teammate Oscar Piastri in the 2025 Formulaen drivers championship ahead of this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix.

Speaking at the FIA press conference on Sunday, Norris made it clear that there is still need to be improved.

“So people can write what they want. It’s not up to me. People have their own opinions.

“Things are 99% of the time, none of them are true. So it’s all crap. As long as I know the truth, I know the truth, as long as people know the truth, it’s fine.

“It was a step forward a bit this weekend, but that’s not the case. It’s glued to it now and not everything is back. There’s still something I need to work on. As a team, they give me the equipment.

Lando Norris is “more emotional” after qualifying

Qualifying was Norris’ main weakness this year.

This is why the British driver was “more emotional” after gaining pole position than when he first won a race in Monaco.

“So, it’s still from both sides, but I’m extremely proud of yesterday,” he added. “I’m more pleased with yesterday’s results than yesterday. So, today is incredible, but more emotional than yesterday.

“Until this year it was always good, and I had to work hard to get it back.

“Oscar, Charles, Max, I’m against the best guys in the world, and if you’re not playing at the highest level, you’re not going to compete with them.

“So, yeah, no one knows the amount of work and effort to get things off of me and my team, and that’s the only people who need to know what’s in and what’s all about and what’s the truth.
