According to James Kay of the next hoop, the latest expansion Wade was signed in a “renegotiated, renovated agreement,” which replaced the contract signed in 2021 after leading the sky to the first title in franchise history.
“The clock starts again, and the new contract is three years.”
Wade has compiled a record of 74-50 since taking over as a bystander in 2019. Wade led the sky to third, first, second and first place at the Eastern Conference. He led the sky to their first title in 2021 as the sixth seed.
This year, The Sky (26-10) finished as the best team in the East, but was the second seed in the playoffs behind the ace, finishing with the same record, but retained the tiebreaker after defeating the skies three times in four regular season meetings.
