Arsenal is set to miss again as Barcelona approaches the 25 million euro keeper: Report

The story is growing about the 25 million euro switch for men linked to the Premier League, but the players themselves say the truth is far from being resolved.

Joan Garcia has argued that despite growing reports that the Espanyol goalkeeper has agreed with Barcelona ahead of a possible summer move, he still remains undecided about his future.

The 24-year-old is one of La Liga’s breakout performers, who tops the charts for his saves this season, helping Espanyol narrowly avoid a relegation on the final day.

However, as both Barcelona and Arsenal are tracking the Spaniards, speculation about his next move has escalated, even if Garcia himself gets grounded.

“At the end of the day, in football, the news is constantly coming out. Things are coming out.” Espanyol No.1 told Tot Gira on 3cat when asked about the latest rumours.

“Until things become real, that’s not necessarily true. But anyway, as I tell you, I’m very calm.

“Anything that has to be decided, I will definitely think a lot about it with my people and choose what’s best for me. I’m sure it will be like that.”

That calm contrasts with growing concerns from Espanyol that players from the season could be lost for just 25 million euros (£21 million).

Camp Nou head coach Hansi Flick dismissed the story of what he moved when asked this week (via the subway). “I don’t talk about players that aren’t on my team. I already have three great goalkeepers.”

Meanwhile, Espanyol boss Manolo Gonzalez admitted he was shocked by his transfer to his city rival, and publicly urged Olympic gold medalists to prioritize normal football over reputation.

Aston Villa was also tied to the stopper’s move, but Garcia’s future appears to be part of a re-shuffle between top Spanish clubs this summer, not Britain.
