The Dallas Mavericks are expected to pursue a trade for Boston Celtics star Jule Holiday this offseason.

Mavericks GM Nico Harrison sent shock warves throughout the league in February trading franchise star Luka Doncic for the Los Angeles Lakers, but in his eyes it was a move to help Dallas win the championship as quickly as possible.

Harrison is working to build a roster that won Dallas despite Maverick winning the Western Conference and reaching the NBA Finals in 2024.

He didn’t believe Donsic was the guy who helped them get through that hump. He chose to pair Kyrie Irving with 10-time All-Star Anthony Davis.

The championship experience is clearly key to Harrison’s project, and another multiple-time winner of Jrue Holiday could potentially have the Celtics equipment coming along as many important roster changes were made this summer.

According to Mark Stein, Dallas will soon explore holiday deals. After landing the first overall pick in the NBA Draft, the impending arrival of the Cooper Flag means the Mavericks have some frontcourt assets to offload.

What will Jrue Holiday look like in Dallas?

Using Fanspo’s NBA trading machine, Celtics Outlet Clns Media has put together three teams’ deals that watch Mavericks Land Jrue Holiday.

The Celtics wouldn’t want to regain more pay in return, as the move is merely to cut wage bills and avoid further penalties from being on the second apron.

Boston managed to acquire big man Daniel Gaford from Dallas as third-team Brooklynnet absorbs the pay of PJ Washington and Caleb Martin.

For the remaining three years on the holiday deal, the $104 million dollars will be a rather difficult asset to trade him, but that’s not impossible and he could leave TD Garden this offseason.

Jrue Holiday fits Mavericks Win-Now philosophy type

Dallas seems to be a great destination for holidays. The 34-year-old is one of the league’s most respected players and is well known for his commitment to winning basketball.

Two-time All-Star Holiday has two NBA championships in his name after winning the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021 and the Celtics in 2024.

He has earned six all-defense honors since being selected as the Philadelphia 76ers’ 17th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

Unfortunately for Boston, they can’t afford to keep the roster at the heart of the roster together for much longer, and as change looms, the holidays are expected to become sacrifice lambs.

Dallas was able to line up next season on Irving in the backcourt next to Davis and Flag on Holiday and Frontcourt.
