Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea is in negotiations to secure Liam Dellup from Ipswich Town. The London club is poised to activate his £30 million release clause, and we are currently awaiting official confirmation from Ipswich.
Although Manchester United was also interested in Dellup, their inability to qualify for next season’s Champions League, following Chelsea’s triumph in the Europa Conference League, swayed his choice to join Stamford Bridge. Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is reportedly a fan of the 22-year-old striker.
Last year, Ipswich acquired Dellup for £15 million from Manchester City, but despite his 12 goals and two assists in 37 Premier League games during the 2024/25 season, he couldn’t prevent the team’s relegation. Nevertheless, he remains eager to play at the highest level.
Chelsea is finalizing a deal for Liam Dellup as his agent and the club have completed the long-term contract discussions.
