The Indiana Pacers will win one victory from the NBA Finals Versus and win the Eastern Conference Championship in a victory over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Knicks vs Pacers Game 5 Preview

When the Pacers advanced to the Championship in 2000, they defeated the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals in six games.

25 years later, Indiana is bidding to emulate that feat, but this time it could be just five if Rick Carlisle’s side crossed the previous line at MSG on Thursday.

Pacer and the Knicks formed fierce rivalry throughout the 1990s, meeting six times in the playoffs from ’93 to 2000.

In Game 4, Pacers leader Tyrees Halliburton recorded a historic triple double of 32 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds without violating sales.

The 25-year-old became the first player in playoff history to score at least 30 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds since sales were first tracked in the late 1970s.

Was this just a coincidence after his father John returned to Gainbridge Field House after the initial ban due to the first incident with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetocomo?

With the Pacers taking a 3-1 lead in the series, Indiana scored 33 points on 14/22 from a pass from Halliburton, and the team’s success shows that elite chemistry’s collective basketball is stronger than any group.

Indiana has never led the conference final 3-1 in his previous nine appearances, so this is the Pacers’ territory-free territory, but they have shown they are more than their ability to reach new heights.

Throughout the series, Halliburton averages 24.3 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds in games, so if Indiana moves forward, it’s safe to assume that his name is sitting pretty well.

However, as mentioned earlier, it is a very impressive collective effort by the Pacers, such as Pascal Siakam, Aaron Nesmith, Myles Turner, Andrew Nembhard and Bennedict Mathurin playing roles on an incredibly high level.

The Knicks’ roster is undoubtedly packed with more firepower than the Pacers, but despite the talent gap, they are not as well oiled as Indiana and have a long way to go from here for New York.
