Liverpool attacker Federico Chiesa has linked his move away from the club during the summer transfer, with clubs like Napoli and Atletico Madrid looking to sign him.
According to a report from Spanish Publication AS, Liverpool wants to sell the player this summer, but if the right deal doesn’t come true, they could be open to sending him out on loan.
Federico Chiesa needs more game time
The 27-year-old has been a Liverpool team player this past season and he struggles with regular game times. The player has only started once in the Premier League this past season and needs to play more frequently at this stage of his career.
Italian International wants to solidify his position with the national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup, and leaving Liverpool would be ideal for him. It remains to be seen whether he has decided to join Naples or Atletico Madrid.
There is demand this summer
Reports from Spanish publications claim that the club is interested in him because he has a high reputation despite not performing at a high level for a year. He could potentially be used for a reasonable amount this summer. Liverpool paid 15 million euros to sign players last summer.
If he can return to his best, he could be a very useful acquisition of Naples and Atletico Madrid. It would be interesting to see where he ends up going. The player is at the peak of his strength, and sitting on the bench of a big club is unlikely to benefit him. He needs to be willing to play more frequently.
