The 2023 NHL Awards Show will be a special hour-long event airing just before Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final. The show will highlight all the award winners of the season, with most recipients being announced ahead of time. It will be broadcast at 6 p.m. ET on June 12th on TNT in the US and SportsNet in Canada.
Florida Panthers captain Alexander Barkov has already received two prestigious awards this year: the Selke Trophy and the King Clancy Trophy. He accepted these honors during a team meeting, which was made special by a surprise visit from a patient at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. More surprise award reveals will continue leading up to the show, where the winners of the Hart Trophy and the Vezina Trophy will be announced.
Actor and former professional football player Isaiah Mustafa will host the ceremony. Known for his role in the famous Old Spice commercials “The Man Your Man Can Smell Like,” Mustafa is a Los Angeles Kings fan and currently stars in Prime Video’s crime thriller series, Cross.
Following the awards, there will be a one-hour break before the Stanley Cup Final Game 4 begins at 8 p.m. ET between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers.
Among the Hart Trophy finalists are Oilers center Leon Draisaitl, Winnipeg Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck, and Tampa Bay Lightning right winger Nikita Kucherov. The Vezina Trophy finalists, which honor the best goaltenders, include Hellebuyck, Kings netminder Darcy Kuemper, and Lightning’s Andrei Vasilevskiy, but do not include the Oilers’ or Panthers’ goalies.
