As June rolls in, European football clubs are preparing for the upcoming summer transfer window ahead of the 2025-26 season. For many players in the US men’s national team, their club choices in the coming months are critical as they approach the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is just a year away. Their performance during this period will significantly impact their chances of representing the team on the world stage.

Thirteen American players are expected to explore new club opportunities over the next few weeks.

GK Matt Turner
Turner urgently needs a new club after playing only four matches for Crystal Palace this past season, with no appearances since March. US coach Mauricio Pochettino noted that while Turner has been their top choice, he needs to play regularly to remain in that position. After a successful stint at New England Revolution and a move to Arsenal, Turner must secure a starting role for the upcoming season.

M/F Gio Reyna
Reyna, currently struggling to secure a spot on the roster, has only started three games for Borussia Dortmund recently. With limited playing time, Reyna needs to transfer to an environment where he can play consistently. Reports suggest that a move to Spain’s Real Sociedad might be forthcoming, but he must find regular playing time before the World Cup.

M/F Yunus Musah
Musah has been a critical player for the national team but faces uncertainty at his current club in Milan. After two seasons, he might leave to join a new club, especially as interest grows from several teams in Serie A and Spain.

M Gianluca Busio
Busio, looking for a fresh start after four seasons with Venezia, needs regular playing time to bolster his chances on the international stage. The 23-year-old’s future could see him either returning to MLS or moving to a more competitive league where he can be a regular starter.

M Johnny Cardoso
Linking up with multiple clubs this summer, Cardoso is eyeing a move to Atletico Madrid following a successful first season with Real Betis. Interest from top clubs could be pivotal for his career trajectory.

M/F Diego Luna
Luna’s impressive performance with Real Salt Lake this season has caught the eye of European clubs. However, he needs to navigate his next steps carefully, given the pitfalls experienced by other young talents.

LB Antonee "Jedi" Robinson
With rumors swirling about a potential move from Fulham to a Champions League club, Robinson has enjoyed a standout season. His 10 assists make him one of the most sought-after defenders in the league.

F Josh Sargent
Despite a strong performance in the UK Championship, Sargent may need to make a leap to a more competitive league to have a chance to return to the national team. A move back to the Bundesliga could reinvigorate his career.

F Christian Pulisic
Pulisic finds himself at a crossroads at AC Milan after a season filled with ups and downs. With clubs monitoring his situation, he must decide whether to stay and build on his previous successes or seek a new challenge elsewhere.

RB Alex Freeman
Freeman’s young and dynamic play has made him an appealing target for various European teams. Orlando is in no rush to sell, though they may command a significant transfer fee.

M Quinn Sullivan
Sullivan is attracting interest due to his dual citizenship and strong performances, making him a valuable asset for European clubs looking to bolster their squads.

LB Max Arfsten
Making strides both domestically and internationally, Arfsten is gaining attention from clubs in Ligue 1. His development as a top left back could lead to a move abroad soon.

LB Payton Miller
Though he may not be a realistic choice for the World Cup, Miller’s rising star at New England Revolution is drawing attention. He may soon find himself in Europe, possibly before his 18th birthday.
