  • Sunderland wants to sign a £3 million wolf ace as a replacement for Bellingham

As Sunderland prepares for life in the Premier League, they were hit hard this week with news of a pending exit for Job Bellingham, but recent reports show that Kuroneko is acting quickly and has already found a Premier League talent to replace him.

Bellingham was set to Borussia Dortmund’s movement

Since arriving at Hikari Stadium in July 2023, Bellingham has been a breath of fresh air for the black cat. The midfielder was unable to score many goals in the 2024/25 campaign, just like the 2023/24 season, but his overall performance was very consistent and helped Sunderland return to the biggest league of football.

Sunderland is currently about to sell a “good” 19 year old.

He is now reported during advanced consultations over the escape.

Despite that achievement, Bellingham has been hammering his future in recent weeks. The 19-year-old has been on a contract until 2028, but this summer he was particularly interested in the possibility of a move from Germany.

Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig were two teams that made the move to sign Bellingham, but the young British decided to follow in the footsteps of their brothers and move to Borussia Dortmund. Bellingham wants to join Dortmund, and according to Keith Downie, Sunderland is in high-level negotiations and plans to sell the midfielder for £25 million.

Therefore, the Black Cats are working on selling Bellingham to Dortmund, so the club’s hierarchy already has players in mind when replacing him. According to TeamTalk, Sunderland is interested in signing wolves Tommy Doyle this summer.

The report says the Black Cat wants to strengthen the team’s spine in preparation for life on top flights, and Doyle is designated as a possible arrival. Sunderland tried to sign with a 23-year-old loan during the January transfer period, but ultimately failed.

Now they want to try again, but this time it is permanently based, as it is said that Doyle is free to leave the club from the wolves. The midfielder lost favour under Vitor Pereira and failed to create five of the last nine Premier League match-day teams.

The Wolves put a £3 million price tag on Doyle’s head, but as they’re interested in Sheffield United, who lost Sunderland in the playoff final, and Welksam, who plays in the second tier next season, Black Cat is not the only team chasing the former man in the city.

But Sunderland may have an advantage – Doyle has the same agent as current Sunderland defender Luke Onien.

Certainly, Sunderland is claimed to be on the box sheet to sign Doyle, dubbed “incredible” by former wolf boss Gary O’Neill. He has played over 50 games in the Premier League, so his mix of top flight experience and youthful vibrancy could go a long way in replacing the departing superstars.
