Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arizabaraga has been locked up in a move to Arsenal this summer.

According to trustworthy David Ornstein of the NY Times, the player has already agreed to join Arsenal, and the 30-year-old will soon complete his move. The contract is reportedly complete.

Bargain move for Arsenal

Arsenal will have to pay a £5 million release clause on the contract. Signing a player of his experience and quality for such money could prove to be a huge bargain. He was considered one of the world’s most incredible goalkeepers during his time at athletic club Bilbao.

Arsenal needs a quality backup goalkeeper, and Spanish International could prove to be a useful acquisition. He was unable to establish himself as an essential asset for Chelsea, and the players were loaned out last season.

He has been loaned out in clubs like Real Madrid and Bournemouth in recent seasons, and he is trying to sort out his long-term future and focus on his football. He will try to push David Raya to where he started next season. The competition for locations will help Arsenal improve as a team.

Arsenal is one of the largest clubs in the world. It’s no surprise that the Spanish goalkeepers decided to join them. He wants to fight against them for a big trophy. Arsenal was fighting for the league title and the Champions League last season. They will be looking to win major trophies next year.
