Fever Soars in Trock Sky with a Second Dominant Win of the Season—This Time Without Kate Linklark

The Indiana Fever secured their second dominant win of the season by defeating the Chicago Sky, this time without star player Kate Linklark. On Saturday, June 7th, the Fever improved their season record to 4-4, despite Linklark sidelined with a quad strain sustained over two weeks ago against the New York Liberty.

Earlier in the season on May 17, Indiana had a commanding victory over Chicago at Gainbridge Field House, winning 93-58. Saturday’s game was slightly more competitive without Linklark, but the Fever still convincingly took down the Sky with a 79-52 score at the United Center.

Kelsey Mitchell stepped up as the team’s leader in Linklark’s absence, contributing 17 points, five rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Four Fever players scored in double digits, driving a strong road win for Indiana.

After the game, the Fever’s official social media account celebrated the win with playful posts, including a clever “Windy City Vibes” message that also teased their opponents.

Indiana Fever appears more confident and resilient during Linklark’s rookie year compared to last season. While their current .500 record reflects a steady start, Linklark’s potential return during their upcoming game against Atlanta could be a significant boost. At full strength, the Fever have evolved into a formidable WNBA team, benefiting from a blend of experience, young talent, and strategic offseason improvements.
