With a 64-18 record, the Cavaliers finished first in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland had the number one seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

They wiped out the Miami Heat in round one, but lost five games to the Indiana Pacers in the conference semi-finals. The injury derailed his chances of running a deep postseason. Starting PG Darius Garland caused a toe injury late in the season and bleeding in the playoffs. He wasn’t 100%, but he tried to get through the pain and play. The team announced Monday that Garland had successfully performed a surgery with his big toe. Garland is expected to miss about 4-5 months.

At the end of the 2024-25 season, Darius Garland suffered a toe injury. He missed two of Cleveland’s last three games. Additionally, Garland missed four straight games after reorganizing an injury in round one. In Game 3 of the second round, Garland returned to the Cavs, but the team had already dropped 0-2 to Indiana in the series. The 25-year-old wasn’t 100%, and the Cavs lost to the Pacers in five games.

A Cavaliers press statement said Garland is expected to miss four to five months. This will allow you to start training camp in October. For Cleveland, it was a shame that Darius Garland missed time in the playoffs. Many analysts believed that the Cavs would at least play the final of the meeting.

In 2024-25, Darius Garland began Cavs’ career-high 75 games. He averaged 20.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.2 steel. With a career-high 7.1 three per game, Garland shot .401% over the arc. Cleveland still has the core of their roster together and will return for the 2025-26 season. Darius Garland is a key piece on the Cavs roster and he must return to become a candidate for the East. With the exception of the set-off, expect Garland to be ready to start next season.
