AC Milan is reportedly currently in discussions to sign Arsenal’s left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko, according to football Italian Alfredo Pedura.
Worth around 20 million euros by TransherMarkt, Ukraine International has emerged as Milan’s highest goal, preparing to lose Theo Hernandez this summer.
The Italian Football Report explains that Milan is in discussion with Arsenal about Zinchenko, but Hernandez could head to Atletico Madrid.
The French previously turned down Al Giral, a giant in the Saudi Arabian professional league, but if the journey to Madrid goes well, it appears they’ll be on their way out of Milan anyway.
This means that we are now heading for the famous Arsenal departure in this window.
The possible Arsenal exit for Oleksandr Zinchenko makes sense after a difficult season
Zinchenko was shining on her first move from Manchester City to Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2022.
The 28-year-old quickly settled down, and Arsenal Challenge City took on a very close challenge for that season’s Premier League title.
However, after playing 27 league games with the Gunners in each of the first two seasons, he only appeared 23 times in all competitions in the 2024/25 campaign.
Arsenal signed Ricardo Calfioli at that position last summer, but homemade youth Miles Lewis Skelly is also a regular on Mikel Arteta’s side.
Will Zinchenko be able to revive her career in Milan?
On his day, Zinchenko is a great player with excellent technical capabilities and a great range pass when flipping into midfield.
Arteta probably ended up dropping him due to his defensive revocation, but his playing style may have probably exposed the team a bit.
However, Zinchenko imagines that it could be better in weak leagues with a slightly slower pace of the game.
Many Premier League flops have revived their Italian careers. Former Chelsea players such as Christian Purisik, Rubenloftasteak and Ficayotomori are all featured in the book as key players in Milan.
